OUR HISTORY
Glory Tabernacle was founded in 1994 by Pastor Clark and Brenda Whittington. The first meetings were held in a side room
of what was formerly known as McQueen's Nursery and Seed Store. As the ministry progressed the property and buildings were
purchased which currently houses all the ministry operations of Glory Tabernacle.
Glory Tabernacle is affiliated with W.H.C.M.F. (World Harvest Church Ministerial Fellowship) with hundreds of other churches
and ministers in the U.S. and around the world. Pastor Rod Parsley of Columbus, Ohio is president of the W.H.C.M.F.
Glory Tabernacle is a "church for all people." We desire to reach across all barriers and tear down all walls
that separate. We welcome all people, regardless of race, gender, background or circumstances.
We are exhorted in the Word of God "not to despise the day of small things."
Zechariah 4:10 The above pictures show how far we have come since purchasing the Nursery property over twelve years
ago. God has been faithful and blessed us with beautiful land and facilities. We are continuing to grow in the
vision He has given us.

VISION OF THE HOUSE
Proverbs 29:18 says, "Without a vision, the people perish..."
Learning to follow God is progressive. We see this progression in principles throughout the Word of God: Outer Court-Inner
Court-Holy of Holies; Children-Men-Fathers; Way-Truth-Life; Faith-Hope-Love; Workers-Warriors-Worshippers; Passover-Pentecost-Tabernacles.
We must grow up into the things of God or wander without direction and die. The following three-fold vision reveals what we
are presently involved in at Glory Tabernacle, and sets the course for future growth and planning. The first
area of our vision is PRAISE AND WORSHIP. Perhaps the greatest teaching on worship
in Scriptures comes from the Lord Jesus Himself in John 4:23. He says the Father is seeking those who will worship Him in
spirit and truth. We believe it is the Christians responsibility and the churches task to give glory to the LORD. We must
learn the scriptural principles concerning praise and worship, and put them into practice in our individual lives and collective
worship services. We believe God is restoring the Tabernacle of David in these days (Amos 9:11,12). This speaks of the restoration
of the church in the areas of praise, worship and ministry. Some aspects of that include banners and pageantry, a wide a
variety of muscial styles, drama and programs of training to bring excellence to musicians and vocalists. Scriptural praise
and worship releases the glory of God in our midst. All other ministry flows out from His presence. Our second
emphasis is placed on KINGDOM SERVICE. We will focus our vision and energies on releasing
Divine wisdom, power and leadership abilities in the areas God has called us. His call to us is to preach the gospel to the
poor, to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to set a liberty
those who are bruised, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord (Luke 4:18,19) We are committed to reaching our neighborhood
and the nations for the Lord. Our third emphasis is DISCIPLESHIP. Our
desire is to train those who are saved in how to live the Christian life. Glory Tabernacle is dedicated to teaching Christians
how to relate to the Lordship of Jesus Christ in every aspect of their lives. Hosea 4:6 says, "My
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..." Believers need to be taught how to serve God, walk uprightly
in their daily lives and how to effectively minister to the needs of others. We believe this goal will be fulfilled as leadership
flows with the five-fold ministry of Ephesians 4:11 which consists of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers.
As we hear the voice of the Lord and see His vision, so we shall know His heart.
STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe the Bible to be given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit,
infallible, and God's revealed word to man. We believe that Scripture
teaches that there is only one true and living God who has chosen to reveal Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy
6:4; Isaiah 43:10,11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22) We believe that man is
a sinful being in need of redemption. (Genesis 1:26-31,3:1-7; Psalm 51:5; Ecclesiastes 7:29; John 6:44; Romans 5:12-21; I
Corinthians 2:14) We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, that
He is the son of God and the son of man, that He came to save man from condemnation of sin by offering His blood as an atonement
and making it available to all who exercise faith in Him. (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31,35; John 3:16; I Corinthians 15:3; II Corinthians
5:21) We believe that salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by
the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential. (Luke 7:50, 24:47; Romans 10:13-15; I Corinthians 1:18; II Corinthians 2:15; Ephesians
2:8,9; II Timothy 1:9; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7) We believe the Scriptures ascribe
to the Holy Spirit the acts and attributes of an intelligent being, and that the works of God such as creation, inspiraiton,
giving of life, and sanctification are also ascribed to the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:2; Job 33:4; Mark 3:29; John 16:8, 13;
Acts 7:51, 10:19, 13:2, 13:4, 16:6; I Corinthians 2:11, 6;11, 12; Ephesians 4:30; I Peter 3;18; II Peter 1:21) We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian
is enabled to live a holy life. (Romans 8:5; Phillippians 2:12, 13; I Thessalonians 4:3; I John 2:29) We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is given to believers who ask for it. (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:4) We believe that all mankind is subject to the death of the body as a result
of original sin. The soul and spirit do not die, but immediately after death enter into a conscious state of happiness or
misery according to the character here possessed by rejection or acceptance of the Savior. (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Romans 5:12;
Philippians 1:23) We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved
and the lost; the saved to everlasting life and the lost without Christ to everlasting damnation. (Matthew 23:31-46; Acts
24:15; Revelation 22:11) We believe in the personal, imminent return of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Acts 1:11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18) We believe
the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. (Isaiah 53:4,
5; James 5:14, 15; I Peter 2:24)
